Jackery Explorer 2000 v2
A large box for a full night without power. It keeps a fridge, Wi-Fi and phones going for about 11 hours. At 39.5 lb, plan on two hands.
- 2,042 Wh
- Watt-hours: how much it holds
- 2,200 W
- Watts: how fast it gives power
- 4,400 W
- Surge: a short burst for start-ups
- 39.5 lb
- Weight: how heavy to carry
How long it runs your things
Estimates. Your devices may use more or less. One thing at a time, from a full box. We keep 85% of the watt-hours, because some power is lost on the way out.
What we think
The Explorer 2000 v2 is a large box. It holds 2,042 watt-hours. Watt-hours are how much power a box holds. It gives up to 2,200 watts. Watts are how fast something uses power. Its surge is 4,400 watts. Surge is a short burst some things need to start, like a pump motor.
What that means in an outage
By our math, counting a fridge at 120 watts, Wi-Fi at 15 and phones at 20:
- Fridge, Wi-Fi and phones: about 11 hours.
- Fridge alone: about 14 hours.
- CPAP: about 43 hours, by our math, for a CPAP that uses about 40 watts with the humidifier off or low. Check the watts on your own machine.
- A sump pump that runs at 800 watts: about 2.2 hours of running time.
These are estimates. Your devices may use more or less.
Why this one and not the Anker SOLIX C2000 Gen 2
They hold almost the same: 2,042 watt-hours here, 2,048 in the Anker. This box weighs 39.5 pounds; the Anker weighs 41.7. Its surge is 4,400 watts; the Anker's is 4,000. Pick the Anker if you want to grow later. Anker says the C2000 Gen 2 takes one extra battery. Jackery says this box is not expandable.
Moving it and charging it
39.5 pounds is a little less than five gallons of water. Jackery says it charges from the wall in about 1.7 hours in its emergency mode, which you turn on in the Jackery app.
The limit
There is no extra battery. Jackery lists 400 watts as the limit for solar panels; the Anker takes 800.
One thing we could not settle: Jackery's own site shows two charge times, 1.7 hours and 1.3 hours. We use the longer one, from the product page.
Bottom line: a large box for one night of fridge and Wi-Fi, for people who do not plan to add more later.
Good for
Outages that last through the night. By our math it runs a fridge, Wi-Fi and phones for about 11 hours.
Not for
Anyone who wants to add a battery later. Jackery says this box is not expandable.
