Information only

KeepLights gives general information to help you choose home backup power. It is not a store. Nothing is sold on this site. If you buy, you buy from Amazon or another seller, under their terms.

Estimates, not guarantees

The hours we show come from a simple formula: watt-hours × 0.85 ÷ watts. Estimates. Your devices may use more or less. Do not treat any number here as a promise of how long your things will run.

Not professional advice

Nothing on this site is electrical, legal, medical or safety advice.

• Medical equipment. If you depend on medical equipment, plan with your doctor or your equipment supplier. Do not rely on our numbers alone.
• Electrical safety. Follow the maker’s manual and your local electrical code. Never plug a generator or a battery into a wall outlet to power a house, unless the equipment is made for that and your local law allows it. If you are not sure, ask a licensed electrician.
• Plug-in solar laws. Our state pages are information, not legal advice. Laws change. Read the source we link, and check with your utility before you buy or plug in.

Product details can change

We read product numbers on the maker’s own page or manual. Makers change their products, and we can make mistakes. We fix errors when we learn of them, but a page can be out of date. Before you buy, check the maker’s page and the Amazon listing.

We link to Amazon, to makers and to official sources. We do not control those sites. Their content, prices, stock, shipping, returns and warranties are theirs, not ours. Some links to Amazon are paid links. Our Disclosure explains them.

The text, tools and design of this site belong to KeepLights. You may quote short parts if you link back to the page. Do not copy whole pages or tools, and do not present our work as yours. Product names, logos and photos belong to their owners.

Fair use of the site

• Do not try to break the site, overload it or get into parts that are not public.
• Do not use robots to click our Amazon buttons or to copy the site in bulk.

We work to keep this site correct, but we offer it “as is”. We do not promise that it is complete, current, free of errors or always online.

KeepLights is written in English for adults in the United States. Products, laws and safety rules are different in other places.

We may change these terms. We post the new version here, with its date at the bottom. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the new terms.
