EcoFlow RIVER 2 Pro
A light medium box. It keeps Wi-Fi and phones going for about 19 hours and weighs 18.2 lb. By our math it can start a fridge and run it for about 5.4 hours.

How long it runs your things
Estimates. Your devices may use more or less. One thing at a time, from a full box. We keep 85% of the watt-hours, because some power is lost on the way out.
What we think
The RIVER 2 Pro sits between the small boxes and the medium ones. It holds 768 watt-hours. Watt-hours are how much power a box holds. It gives up to 800 watts. Watts are how fast something uses power. Its surge is 1,600 watts. Surge is a short burst some things need to start, like a fridge motor.
What that means in an outage
By our math, counting a fridge at 120 watts, Wi-Fi at 15 and phones at 20:
- Fridge, Wi-Fi and phones: about 4.2 hours.
- Fridge alone: about 5.4 hours.
- Wi-Fi and phones only: about 19 hours.
- CPAP: about 16 hours, by our math, for a CPAP that uses about 40 watts with the humidifier off or low. Check the watts on your own machine.
These are estimates. Your devices may use more or less.
About fridges
A fridge can need a burst of about 1,200 watts to start. This box's surge is 1,600 watts. So by our math it can start a fridge. It will not run one for long: about 5.4 hours.
Why this one and not the DELTA 3
The reason is weight. This box weighs 18.2 pounds; the DELTA 3 weighs 27.6. This box holds 768 watt-hours and gives 800 watts. The DELTA 3 holds 1,024 and gives 1,800. If you want the fridge on for longer, we would pick the DELTA 3.
Moving it and charging it
18.2 pounds is a bit more than two gallons of water. EcoFlow says it charges from empty to full in 70 minutes from the wall.
The limit
800 watts rules out a microwave and a space heater. EcoFlow also lists 1,600 watts for a mode called X-Boost. We count 1,600 only as surge. This box is from EcoFlow's RIVER 2 line, the one before RIVER 3. We call it medium because it holds more than 600 watt-hours.
Two things we could not settle. One line in EcoFlow's manual says 500 watts and a 1,000-watt peak. EcoFlow's page and the spec table in the same manual say 800 and 1,600. We go by the page and the table.
The manual also has a warning for when the box sits between the wall and your things, as a backup. Then it should power one thing at a time, of up to 1,000 watts in places with 120-volt power, like the US.
We're checking two things. EcoFlow does not say how many wall outlets the US box has. And EcoFlow does not say if you can add an extra battery.
Bottom line: a box you can carry. It keeps Wi-Fi, phones and a CPAP on through the night, or a fridge for a few hours.
Good for
Wi-Fi, phones and a CPAP through the night, or a fridge for a few hours, in a box one person can carry.
Not for
A microwave or a space heater, or a fridge through a long outage.
